MANILA, Philippines — Carlos Yulo stamped his name in history after being the first Filipino gymnast to win a gold medal in the Olympics.
The 4-foot-11 turner stood stall against his opponents in the men's artistic gymnastics floor exercise finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics after garnering a total of 15.00 points (6.600 in difficulty, 8.400 in execution, and 0.0 penalty).
Yulo holds the highest record so far in the Olympic games after his solid golden performance in the finals floor exercise.
The Filipino gymnast flawlessly executed a double front with a twist in his routine.
Yulo threw his two fists up in the air after concluding his performance.
Israel's Artem Dolgopyat bagged silver with 14.966 points, while United Kingdom's Jarman Jake took bronze with 14.933 points.
